Maintaining Lighting Control Systems
In event production, the lighting console is the "brain" that regulates the entire lighting control system and requires great attention in terms of use and maintenance.
1. Data Backup
If you need to leave the site during programming or after programming, you must use a USB flash drive to back up the data of the lighting console, otherwise, the situation will be unimaginable if the console fails or is damaged by man-made.
2. Standby Console
Any electronic product has a chance of failure. In order to avoid accidents during the event show, it is best to reserve a console of the same model to back up the data. If the conditions do not allow, it is also necessary to reserve a 192 lighting console or 240 lighting console.
3. Grounding Anti-static
The use of grounded power for electronic products is a basic requirement of safety regulations, especially in dry weather and carpeted environments, it is easier to generate a lot of static electricity. In order to prevent static electricity accumulated in the console body, injuring the operator or damaging the console chip, resulting in chaos in the console. It is necessary for the operator to take a simple grounding method on-site, for example, connect the grounding screw of the console with a conductive wire, and press the other end of the conductive wire to the floor with the console.
4. Moisture-proof and dustproof
The internal contact surfaces of the buttons used by some lighting consoles in the industry are all metal. The humid environment can easily lead to oxidation of the metal surface, making the buttons insensitive during use Therefore, it is extremely important to carry out moisture-proof maintenance on the lighting controller. In addition, the fader on the flight controller is a very accurate electronic component. If the console is exposed to the outside for a long time, it is easy to accumulate dust in the fader, which directly causes the data of the fader to jump or the data cannot be reset to zero. Therefore, many lighting controllers are equipped with dustproof leather covers or cloth covers when they leave the factory. When the console is not in use, cover the dust cover as much as possible.
5. Use a signal amplifier
Proper use of Dmx signal amplifiers to connect the console and equipment can well protect the console. The strong loop current generated when the lamp fails will not burn the console, but will be blocked by the amplifier. Even if the signal amplifier is burned, the loss will be greatly reduced. Also, signal amplifiers can facilitate wiring and also help to enhance signals.
6. Power on and off
We will connect the power supply of the lighting console with the switches of stage lighting equipment and other high-power electrical appliances together at the actual use site. In this way, when the power is directly connected together, the instantaneous strong current can easily cause the fuse of the console to burn out, and the power can not work. Therefore, before all devices are powered on, the power switch button of the console itself should be turned off. After other devices are powered on, the power switch of the console should be turned on separately. This can effectively ensure that the switch insurance is not easy to burn out. In case the fuse is burnt out, there is a spare fuse under the power socket that can be used at any time.
